Land Use in Cornelius

Planning Areas:

  • Area 1 encompasses West Catawba from I-77 to the Peninsula.
  • Area 2 encompasses the rest of West Catawba.
  • Area 3 includes the Town Center, west to I-77, south to Wellesley Village and north to Davidson.
  • Area 4 is due south of Town Center and includes the corridors of Washam-Potts Rd., Bailey Rd., Westmoreland Rd., US 21 and Hwy 115.
  • Area 5 is east of Hwy. 115 and includes Antiquity.  The Cornelius East Vision Plan covers approximately 3.6 square miles between Old Statesville and Davidson-Concord roads.  The plan includes significant preservation of open space, the connection of Bailey Road to Davidson-Concord Road and new transit-friendly office development off Old Statesville Road.

Projects

The Bailey Road Corridor, from Highway 21 to Highway 115, is a proposed plan for redevelopment in the area.
